Currently farming Siegebreaker, and I’ve been using a skill that I have yet to see mentioned in anyone’s build that makes killing champions quicker and more rewarding (sometimes): Exploding Palm.
I love it because 30% of a monster’s HP on inferno is extremely high – it is really satisfying to pop it onto a big mob (such as a fallen overlord) when he gets low and wipe out all of his little buddies around him. Same philosophy applies when fighting elites – drop one, Palm it before he dies, and a huge chunk of HP falls from his buddies. It costs 40 spirit, which means it heals well (transcendence) and gives you an offensive spirit dump as opposed to mantra-spamming. The 12% extra damage (runed) is also nice for focusing down big targets.
The really cool part is getting 3x nephalem stacks (and loot) from champion packs, and it doesn’t even have to be a health link pack (although that makes it easier to pull off). The idea is to whittle all 3 (or 4) champs down to sub-30% health. Once you get there, Palm one and kill it, and it will bring all of them down simultaneously, granting you the aforementioned perks. Even if you accidentally kill an isolated champ, you can still get 2x stacks/loot on the remaining ones.
I’m guessing that Blizzard will fix it eventually, so enjoy it while you can! A quick tip: Make sure you press ‘V’ to turn monster health bars on. Helps a ton for finding the weak ones. Enjoy!
