One of the main complaints when Diablo 3 was first released was the lack of stats that were available on legendary items and in most case rare and even magic often contain better stats then that of Legendary items.   The result of this is often seen in auction houses where you will see legendary items selling for lower prices than even rare or magic items.
With the 1.04 patch Blizzard has decided to address this issue by buffing the items and improving the graphics to make them look more distinct.  Some of these buffs include the ability of life steal and fire chains.    How this will promote more players to start using these items remains to be seen but at this is good sign for players with legendary items just taking up space in stash.

In Other news Diablo 3 is now free! ok not really

Well that is not really true but part of the first act is free.  Outside of guest passes which were available at the release of the game which allowed players to play to level 20.  This new option will allow players to play up to Act 1 of the game up to the skeleton king without having to purchase it.  This option will be more readily available to more players as guest passes were only available if you had friend who had the game and the serial numbers were limited.  This new free trial is dub Diablo 3 start edition and is available for download available on battle.net.
For players that were familiar with Diablo 3 during their beta testing period this will sound familiar as Act 1 was the only act available at that time as well.  While this is great some players may be disappointed they won’t have a chance to face the butcher who comes on later in the game.  On the bright side players will have chance to try out their favorite class of in game characters and any progress they make on their characters will carry over when they upgrade to the full version of the game.

The Diablo 3 Starter edition was only available via invitation. Now Blizzard is extending this invitation to anyone and everyone. If you have a Battle.net account, you can access the starter edition with ease. All you have to do is log into your account, and apply for the Diablo 3 Start Edition in the “Your Game Accounts”page. After you have accessed the starter edition, you are free to play the game until level 13.
There are some other limitations however, for instance; you may not access the the Auction House. The matchmaking ability allows you to only connect with other starter edition members. Something else to keep in mind, if you’re going to try and access the starter edition in any other region where the account was not registered, you will receive an Error 12. The good news about this opportunity, is this gives the chance for potential players to experience the game without imposing too many limitations. If you like your experience, your progress will automatically carry over to your full edition of the game after you make the purchase.The starter edition will give you ample time for you to decide if you want to go through with the purchase of the full edition. Diablo 3 has seemingly been doomed with all sorts of problems since the release date of the game.Among the top few has been problems occurring with various countries such as Korea and China.Players were reporting multiple errors codes occurring. Blizzard has attempted to to rule out all errors and bugs, but it seems every time one is conquered, another dozen appears. The latest bug has been revealed as “Godmode” by its fans. Whoever activates the bug is now considered invincible.

The bug has quickly rose in popularity and info about it is available on Youtube and even forums dedicated to the Diablo 3 game. To activate the bug, you need to meet some requirements first. Your character must have Teleport and Archon abilities. If your character meets these requirements, activating the bug is simple. Just hover your mouse cursor over your character and select “Teleport” while selecting “Archron” at the same time. You can identify users who have taken advantage of this bug by the purple aura that surrounds a character. Players can also attack while remaining invincible.

When using this bug to an advantage, this allows a player to beat the end of the game Boss with more ease. The end game boss was designed to challenge players. A player who used the bug to his advantage has recently bragged that a player can be expected to beat the game in less time and more easier. He himself has defeated the game three times because of the bug.

Regardless of the fact that there’s a thread dedicated to discussing hacks and exploits, the members are required to take responsibility and email their concerns to the Blizzard company. Blizzard has yet to respond to any messages about the bug. Instead they seem to be focusing on other issues at hand.It’s uncertain when this issue will be patched or if it will at all.

On Monday evening Blizzard confirmed that they would be allowing game limits to persist on the Diablo 3 game, yet again. The limit was suggested and created as a way to attempt bots and exploits from happening. In other words, unethical users playing Diablo 3 would be banned for a time period. In order to get around the ban, the player would have to get a hold of Blizzard and explain themselves. This was announced shortly after players started to realize that item duplication had returned despite Blizzard’s attempts to eradicate it entirely. The Vietnam team has boldly offered to many members a guide on how to duplicate items for a whopping one billion dollars in game currency. Blizzard has stated that they have been doing some under cover testing and it was revealed that the game limits will not impact any of the honest members. However the same cannot be said for the cheaters. The game limits will become effective shortly. After the changes are put into effect, Blizzard has requested that the members of the game please keep the staff updated on how things are going. The limit is not intended for the ethical players, and they would like to keep it that way.

Linux users have never been given equal respect when it comes to software development and games. Some of the reasons for this are because of the many issues that exist for Linux users. No one operating system is better than the other. Linux is no exception. Several compatibility problems can occur when attempting to play a game that was meant for a PC. Linux is considered a free and open source project operating system compared to the PC or Mac operating systems, which are definitely not free. Because of the hassle involved when attempting to understand the Linux operating system, it’s not worthwhile to create or ensure that games are equally compatible between operating systems.

So those who are big fans of the Linux operating system need to find a software that duplicates the environment of a PC operating system. One of the most popular of these soft wares is referred to as Wine. Wine is what is referred to as a windows emulator. It’s a software that is installed on a computer (in this case, a Linux computer) to run and give the impression that the computer is operating off of a PC environment. This is extremely useful when you want to play a game that will only run on a PC or Mac. If you are a Diablo 3 fan and own or run a Linux operating system, perhaps it would just be best to purchase a PC computer. Linux users are now facing punishments from Blizzard if the company detects an emulator. Many players have already been permanent banned for running the game with a Linux operating system or with an emulator such as Wine to play the game.

Many concerned and angry members have gathered on the Wine forums, discussing the issues and permanent bans they have come across when relying on the emulator. Multiple complaints filled Blizzard’s own forum with requests to remedy the situation. The Linux users who have complained suggest that Blizzard and its special systems used to identify hackers or cheaters is incorrectly accusing these Linux users of wrongful deeds. Wine is treated as a game modification tool that goes against the terms and services for Blizzard.If this system detects cheating, the punishment ranges from a progress roll back to a permanent ban all together.

The community manager, Bashiok insists that there were legitimate reasons for banning these Linux users and that it was not done because they were simply Linux users. These people were cheating, according to Bashiok.

While you can play the Diablo 3 game with a Linux operating system, it proves to be difficult. Blizzard states that using a Linux operating system is not the root cause of getting banned. You may use a Linux computer to play the game, however cheating or any other unethical methods used to play the game will not be tolerated.
